The UNCC Venture Outdoor Leadership team always provides our students with a safe space to challenge themselves, and build their confidence and trust in themselves and one another. ?? Programming Spotlight ?? Spring means preparing for our annual Run Big Dream Big programming series! This year, we are participating in the Mental Health Matters 5K with Mental Health Matters NC in May ?? Earlier this month, we kicked off the programming series with a full day of fun, laughter, and education. Students received a free sports bra thanks to a generous donation from Bras for Girls and made their T-shirts for race day. A huge thank you to the incredible women at Charlotte-based Latina wellness collective Thrive Amiga for facilitating educacional workshops on goal setting, our relationships to ourselves and our culture, moving and nourishing our bodies, building community, and more. ?? Programming Spotlight ?? Thank you so much to Exposure Project for inviting our students to participate in Mind Game: An Experiential Career Youth Summit this past weekend! This event provided students across Charlotte with the incredible opportunity to see the Johnson C. Smith University - JCSU campus and explore different careers in engaging ways. Our students loved learning how to collect finger prints and read their finger print pattern in the Crime Scene Investigation workshop, practicing new hair styling techniques in the Cosmetology session, and getting a look behind the scenes in the Filmography workshop.
