We're super excited to announce that Circa Systems officially signed a lease with the great team at Shift Capital for a new warehouse on Kensington Avenue. Not only are we doubling our square footage so we have space to store more toys, but we also have some great office space for the team too! And more importantly, we're excited to be taking part in the positive economic development that Shift is bringing to Kensington! Although we have plenty to do at Circa Systems and Circular Philadelphia I was happy to devote the day to #ClimateWeekNYC. My first stop was at Convene at Rockefeller Center where the Nobel Peace Center hosted the seminar “No Time to Waste: A Dialouge on Circularity and Sustainability.” The session was opened by the Nobel Peace Center’s executive director Kjersti Fl?gstad who made the compelling case that a peaceful planet can be achieved through #circulareconomy. Then we heard from the OG advocate, thought leader and designer in the circular economy (and who I had the pleasure of meeting and having a lovey conversation) William McDonough. Bill brilliantly played with language and asked, “Why do we keep wanting to go toward zero?” He weaved in vivid images of his childhood in Japan to make the save that instead of said let’s do less bad, let’s do more good. And then there were panels from industry leaders from across the automotive and tech sector as well as material management thinkers who added their insights into the same question we’re trying to answer at Circa Systems as well as many of the businesses in the Circular Philadelphia network. How do we maintain a thriving quality of life for as many people as possible while not destroying the planet in the process? It feels good to be around others who are addressing this question too. Circa Systems is taking its next big step with our first platform Unless Kids and opening it up to every family in the Riverwards section of Philadelphia (Port Richmond to No Libs). We started with a 50 family pilot that was supposed to last until the end of October. But we learned so much so quickly that we decided to expand two months early. So if you’re a parent in this area and your tired of too much toy clutter but still want to bring joy to your kids, then sign up and find out what one parent described as “a truly magical effect on my child!”

Yes, we did share about an award Samantha Wittchen got not that long ago... But this is actually a NEW ONE! Way to go Sam! Sam is a real deal engineer and brings so much to the Circa Systems team.
