A few weeks ago in the wake of Meta "getting back to their roots" around "free expression", I spoke to Marianna Spring at the BBC about how recent changes -- most notably the shift from professional fact-checkers to community-driven notes, as well as updates to Meta’s hate speech policy -- will impact users, especially vulnerable ones, and shape the Trust and Safety landscape. We also explored how the motivations behind Elon Musk’s and Mark Zuckerberg’s approaches differ, and what that means for the direction of online discourse.
