?? Rare Disease Day shines a light on the 300 million people worldwide living with rare diseases. It raises awareness about delayed diagnoses, limited treatments, and the urgent need for more research, pushing policymakers and scientists to take action. Together, we can amplify voices and drive change! ?? Meet Mitchell Browning, a remarkable young man who had KIF1A Associated Neurological Disorder (KAND). Though nonverbal and facing immense challenges, Mitchell’s presence was larger than life. He radiated joy to everyone he met, especially his brother. His diagnosis took years, and his life was far too short, but his impact was immeasurable. For families navigating rare diseases, Mitchell’s mom, Stacey Browning, shares this heartfelt advice: "Navigating KAND—or any rare disease—should be a judgment-free zone. Some days, you just get by. Try not to make assumptions when you see someone in a wheelchair. Open doors, let them go first, say hi, or offer help. That caregiver may be exhausted, facing financial stress, or carrying the weight of knowing their loved one won’t experience life like others." Stacey, a former Managing Director and EIR at CincyTech finds comfort in carrying a “Parting Stone” with her at all times. “He’s always with me,” she says. To honor Mitchell’s memory, she serves on the Board of Trustees for Cincinnati Children's. “Mitchell’s life was optimized because of the incredible medical team he had there,” says Stacey. Mitchell’s journey is a reminder that every stripe tells a story. ?? At CincyTech, we believe in the power of innovation to change lives. The membership model makes heart health monitoring accessible, with different tiers available to suit individual needs.
