关于我们
The Cincinnati-Hamilton County Community Action Agency (CAA) is a private, non-profit organization that has served as a lifeline for low-income children, adults and families throughout Hamilton County for more than four decades. The agency provides a safety net for those who have fallen and a ladder for those who are climbing. Delivering a seamless system of services, CAA and its 300 employees provide assistance with employment, supportive services, home energy efficiency, early childhood education, housing and youth programs. CAA is proud to be a part of the Community Action Partnership, a national association that represents the interests of the nearly 1,000 CAAs across the country, all devoted to ending poverty and empowering people to better their lives. MISSION To act as advocate, provider and facilitator for the full range of public and private resources, programs and policies which give low- to moderate-income individuals the opportunity to improve the quality of life for themselves, their families and their communities. VISION STATEMENT In our commitment to reducing the causes of poverty, we work together – community, Board and staff – with a dedication to quality, innovation and inspiration. We remain focused on the development, delivery of services and support to low‐income people in an environment of mutual trust, fairness and respect, resulting in an improved quality of life, self‐sufficiency and benefit to humanity.

For almost 20 years, Celeste Small has been a valuable individual for the CAA community. With her leadership skills as the Food Service Manager, her and her team ensures that the Head Start children at all our self-operating sites are provided with hot, nutritious meals daily. “My heart is in it as soon as I step into the door," says Celeste. “This is what I like to do. I like to see the kids happy. I'm here everyday, no matter what.” “Celeste has a heart for the children and for her team. It is important to her that her team members are happy and enthused about working at CAA and the important role they play. Her team is very close knit and look out for each other. The quality of service speaks for itself” says Josh Fletcher. Celeste is one that goes beyond for her team and the children. During COVID Celeste and her team stepped up to provide weekly food boxes for distribution to Head Start parents. All preparation and delivery details were covered at all sites. Food boxes were also prepared for Home Schooler and delivered by the home school staff. We thank you Celeste for continuing to be the best you can and exemplifying the mission and values of CAA!

Today, we honor the legacy of Gwen L. Robinson, a true champion for our community. As President and CEO of the CAA for 23 years, Gwen dedicated her life to ensuring that we live in an equitable community where everyone is equipped with the tools and resources to be self-sufficient. Under her leadership, countless individuals and families found support, hope, and opportunities to thrive. Her impact will never be forgotten, and her passion for service continues to inspire us all. Our thoughts are with her family, friends, and the many lives she touched.
