关于我们

Cincinnati Nature Center is a nonprofit nature education organization and community of people who enjoy and care about nature. The Nature Center offers something for people of all ages, in all seasons. Our award-winning trails wind through the region’s natural habitats of forest, fields, streams, and ponds. Enjoy a self-guided hike, bird walk, seasonal nature program, and much more. We offer two locations to hike and explore. Rowe Woods in Milford, Ohio, east of Cincinnati, spans 1,025 acres (including 65 acres of old growth forest) and offers more than 16 miles of hiking trails. Long Branch Farm & Trails is our members-only located in Goshen, Ohio, nine miles northeast of Milford. This location has 582 acres of forest and farmland with four miles of hiking trails.

  • Director of Conservation Cory Christopher will take part in The Requiem for Water panel discussion on Tuesday, March 25. This panel will touch on both the ecological aspects of water conservation as well as the social implications of water conservation. In particular, the panel will discuss the topic of water rights with the goal of getting the audience to reflect on how we are all players in the same water system, and our collective mismanagement of water can have far-reaching impacts on people living downstream, both literally and figuratively. "I am excited to be a part of this Summermusik (Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra) panel because it's helping to normalize discussions about important conservation topics in venues that may not traditionally facilitate conservation dialogue" says Cory Christopher. "Everyone should have fair and equal access to clean water. I'm happy to see that Summermusik is trying to bring this message to a wider audience, and I'm thrilled to be a part of this important celebration of water." As a lover of all things nature, you’ve probably heard the buzz about the Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist Program (OCVN)—a course that is hosted at sites throughout the state, including Cincinnati Nature Center, in partnership with the Ohio State University Extension, with the mission of “promoting awareness and citizen stewardship of Ohio’s natural resources through science-based education and community service.” Perhaps you’ve thought about signing up, but it’s been difficult to fit a 40-hour educational course into your busy schedule. Solution? Consider the 100% online, Winter Cohort starting January 14, 2025. This cohort is the most convenient way to meet the certification requirements for the education component of the course and can be done from anywhere as long as you have access to a computer! Evening lectures take place live on Zoom where you can talk with presenters and classmates from the comfort of your own home. No winter weather advisories to get in the way! Plus, the required 12 hours self-guided outdoor assignments will get you outside, whenever and wherever you choose! So, what can you expect? The Winter OCVN Cohort is all-online, every Tuesday and Thursday night from 6–8 pm on Zoom starting Tuesday, January 14 and ending Thursday, February 27, 2025. This winter, join the over 600 nature lovers who have become OCVNs graduates at Cincinnati Nature Center! The application deadline is Friday, January 10, but spots fill fast, so don’t delay! #CincyNature?#Naturalist?#Volunteer #NaturalResources
