Every time I start a new film or tv project, I typically end up setting up a number of different software and apps to help the production run smoothly. Depending on the size of the project, I might use more or less software or a different tool(s) depending on the budget etc. Because there are so many different solutions, I found myself forgetting which ones to use and which ones I still needed to learn more about. We’re excited to announce that Unit Breaks—one of our most requested features—is now available in the app! This new banner-type functionality helps you organize strips by different units, such as MAIN UNIT, 2ND UNIT, TANDEM UNIT, and more, directly on your stripboard. Add and Assign Units: Use the new toolbar icon in Stripboard view to add Unit Breaks, then assign each to a specific unit, like MAIN UNIT or 2ND UNIT. ?? Custom Styling and Notes: Click on any Unit Break to open the editor panel, allowing you to adjust styling and add custom notes for DAY # fields, such as director names or other details. ?? Reporting Filters by Unit: You can now filter One-Liners and Shooting Schedules by Unit. You’ll need to make sure each breakdown sheet also has a unit assigned to it. Here’s a tip to quickly bulk assign units: 1?? Select a strip, open the Breakdown Sheet, and enter a Unit. 2?? Copy (CMD+C) and paste (CMD+V) that Unit across multiple selected strips.
