Bringing together stakeholders from the #maize seed sector, the event focused on solutions to promote new maize varieties, accelerate turnover, and address key industry challenges.???? Key Highlights: ??Farmer-Centric Approach: Addressing adoption barriers and listening to farmer needs. ??Streamlined Processes: Reducing variety release time to 5 years. ??Innovative Marketing: Leveraging digital tools to boost awareness and adoption. Accelerating varietal turnover is key to transforming agriculture, ensuring food security, and improving farmer livelihoods. Collaboration and innovation will make this vision a reality.

This milestone highlights Mexico’s dedication to biodiversity conservation and global food security. ???? The Svalbard Vault, located in Norway, serves as a critical backup for seeds, protecting them from climate change, natural disasters, and other threats.?? As Cristian Zavala, CIMMYT’s germplasm conservation specialist, explains: "If this diversity is lost, only these gene banks can return it to its place of origin."
