"Whether they choose to suppress lactation or donate milk, every family who loses a pregnancy or a baby deserves support for their lactation journey."
TW: Infant Loss Ava, Declan, Ryan, Caroline, Evie . . . Dedicated on a Sunday afternoon almost 8 years ago, this memorial quilt honors our bereaved donors, who, in an act of extraordinary generosity donated their breastmilk following the loss of a beloved infant and/or pregnancy. Each leaf bears the name of a cherished son or daughter with additional leaves placed in tribute to babies yet to be named. While donating milk after loss may not be right for everyone, many find comfort and meaning in knowing their milk can save the life of another precious child: “I would give a mom anything I could if it would help them bring their baby home. This was a gift Evie would have wanted me to make. Donating was a way to show my daughter how much I love her." ~ Caelah-Beth, bereaved milk donor and Evie’s mom Whether they choose to suppress lactation or donate milk, every family who loses a pregnancy or a baby deserves support for their lactation journey. Today, in honor of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, please consider making a gift to support our work with bereaved families and/or in honor of a life much loved and missed.
