"La agroindustria en México: una respuesta a los programas de migración laboral temporal" Tuve el honor de participar como co-organizador, junto con Axel Garcia Carballar de CIERTOGlobal, y como maestro de ceremonias en este foro en el Senado de México, un espacio clave para discutir la movilidad laboral agrícola y la necesidad de fortalecer mecanismos que garanticen un proceso ordenado, seguro y beneficioso tanto para los trabajadores como para el sector. El evento, organizado por la Sen. Karina Ruiz, Ahifores Oficial, el Consejo Nacional Agropecuario, Fundación Avina-Proyecto Periplo , la Clínica Nansen del Tec de Monterrey y la OIM - ONU Migración, reunió a actores fundamentales en el tema migratorio, como la Viceministra de Trabajo y Previsión Social de Guatemala, María Victoria Claudia Nineth Peneleu, y el Embajador de Guatemala en México, Edgar Armando Gutiérrez Girón. Se discutieron propuestas para regular la migración laboral entre México y Guatemala, así como el avance del proyecto piloto de movilidad laboral temporal agrícola entre Guatemala - México - Estados Unidos, que he tenido el privilegio de coordinar. Un paso más hacia una migración ordenada, segura y respetuosa de los derechos humanos en el sector agrícola. Last week we had the privilege of hosting Whole Foods Market's team down in Tequila, Veracruz, Mexico to learn more about international recruitment and the H2A program that many employers and agricultural supply chains depend on for their labor needs. We appreciated their willingness to sit down with workers and hear about the challenges they face with recruitment and how CIERTO can provide an alternative that is secure and transparent. We are also thankful to AgSocio for joining us on this trip to give the whole perspective from the communities of origin to the farm and back.
