Thank you to The Nonprofit Council and Masters Leadership Program of Greater San Antonio for bringing together what we consider to be the best and most brilliant, mission-driven individuals - our local and regional nonprofit leaders. We were honored to meet so many of you yesterday, and we left inspired and connected. Keynote speaker Joan Garry gifted us with wisdom, insight, and laughter to keep moving and never stop pursuing our vision.

Have you seen the latest issue of San Antonio Woman magazine? Our very own?Carrie Gray is featured for her work with NAWBO San Antonio's High School Mentorship Program. Carrie, the president-elect of the NAWBO-SA Foundation, says, "We are developing the next generation of women entrepreneurs. It is so rewarding to work with the girls to help them develop and refine their business plans. I never had an opportunity like this when I was younger, and I love being involved with creating these opportunities for them." ?? To our nonprofit community, we stand with you in solidarity. Your missions are beyond critical for the success of our neighborhoods and our broader communities. With federal funding in question, it's time for strategic action. Your mission matters too much to let panic drive decisions. Start by mapping your cash flow and identifying essential vs. flexible expenses. Then, build multiple scenarios, from brief delays to extended freezes. Your contingency plans are critical. Most importantly, engage with your supporters NOW. We go back to what we have said repeatedly: individual donors are your superpowers! Share your story,?ask them to share theirs,?be transparent about your challenges, and ask for what you need. Take care of yourself, and take care of those you serve. We will all have to take the long?view.

From the summer through the fall of 2024, we had the privilege of partnering with the Alamo Heights School Foundation Board of Directors and staff to create a strategic action plan to propel their mission to even greater heights. We loved exploring the essentials of creating highly effective teams with our Nonprofit Leaders for Excellence cohort in the Rio Grande Valley. This incredible group of 12 nonprofit executives meets monthly to hear from a speaker and facilitator and discuss nonprofit governance, leadership, and more! As Carrie said, the sessions keep getting better! Thank you to our partners Valley Baptist Legacy Foundation and Knapp Community Care Foundation.

We are so proud of our partner, San Antonio Botanical Garden, on their Splendor in the Garden Gala event last week. They surpassed all fundraising goals and hosted the most lovely event! Cheers to you all!
