For four decades, the Northern California Design Build Competition? has been shaping the future of the construction industry—giving high school students the chance to bring their skills to life in a real-world, hands-on competition. This year, we mark the 40th anniversary of this incredible event, where student teams will design, plan, and construct a structure over two action-packed days, showcasing their teamwork, craftsmanship, and problem-solving skills.   • Building Future Builders! Students from Medina Valley High School’s Design Build Competition? Team gained valuable experience with employees from Marek’s San Antonio office, learning steel framing and drywall installation from industry professionals. Former Medina Valley graduates, now working at Marek, returned to mentor the next generation, sharing their skills and career insights. Meanwhile, students also gave back to their community by building picnic tables and flower beds for La Coste Elementary in coordination with Principal Oscar Vega.   • Last month, we welcomed nearly 600 attendees to the Sacramento Regional Builders Exchange-CIEF Crab Feed, where we celebrated the incredible talent and bright futures of local students. Eight Construction Management students from Chico State Construction Management Department and California State University-Sacramento were awarded $10,000 in scholarships, supporting their educational journey and growth in the built environment. These students are the next generation of construction leaders—driven, passionate, and ready to make a difference.
