?? Mental Health in Engineering: Let’s Talk About It ?? The engineering industry is known for its high-pressure deadlines and problem-solving intensity. While we take pride in building and innovating, we can sometimes neglect our own well-being. ?? The Reality: - Many suffer in silence due to stigma around mental health. - Work-life balance often takes a backseat to project deadlines. ?? What Can We Do? ?? Normalize conversations about mental health. ?? Encourage companies to provide mental health resources. ?? Prioritize work-life balance and stress management. ?? Support each other—check in on your colleagues and peers. Your mental well-being is just as important as your technical skills. A strong mind builds strong solutions #MentalHealth #Engineering #WorkLifeBalance #BreakTheStigma

Well that’s the end of an extremely beneficial & enjoyable weekend. Firstly, I would like to thank CIBSE YEN Northern Ireland , Max McCone and Ruth Tatanga for effectively organising such an informative group of events. A weekend consisting of talks with the future Engineers at Ulster University, a detailed site visit of the Belfast Transport hub, attendance to the 2024 YEN Gala and finally finishing with good discussions and experience sharing at the CIBSE YEN Global Conference. Through this experience, I’m thankful to all the YEN Chairs & Vice Chairs for enabling me to engage in discussions and to share CIBSE YEN Scotland ‘s current targets/ideas. The conference represented an effective framework of how we as a global network should continue to provide a space for collaboration and knowledge sharing. Finally, thankyou to RSP Consulting Engineers LLP for the continuous support, allowing me to develop a voice for our region.
