Our healthcare system is plagued by a dangerous over-reliance on specialization. When doctors only have one tool in their arsenal, they treat every problem the same way, often with medication that only masks symptoms. Patients do in fact deserve better!

What happens when you stop taking Ozempic or another GLP-1 medication? Markyia Nichols, M.D. provided her insight to Ro, and said that by getting to the root-cause of metabolic issues, people with chronic or polychronic conditions can in fact successfully come off GLP-1s, maintain an optimal weight, and achieve healthy A1C levels. “Blood glucose levels often begin to rise as the medication's effects wear off, particularly in people with diabetes or?insulin resistance, since the medication is no longer regulating glucose metabolism and insulin secretion,” Dr. Nichols says. “However, this presents an opportunity to implement sustainable dietary and lifestyle modifications that naturally support glucose regulation.” READ >>> https://lnkd.in/eky_6kWx

"If we look back at what our medical system was designed for, it's for emergencies. If I get into a car accident, or something is broken, take me to the emergency room to a physician who can fix my bones. "That's what our healthcare system was first designed to do. Now we're trying to use the same 'emergency' model to understand a person's body and identify why they're having symptoms.?And, it's not working." That's where root-cause medicine shines bright. ?? Listen to Ciba Health Chief Medical Officer Markyia Nichols, M.D.'s appearance on the insightful Sparking Wholeness, hosted by Erin Kerry >>> https://lnkd.in/ge9HgpzK

GLP-1s are the "wave of the future" in many eyes. But, how about a future where metabolic dysfunction isn’t just managed—it’s reversed! GLP-1s don't fix the root issue(s), such as why metabolic pathways are disrupted in the first place. This can lead to more serious inflammation-based disease. A step down approach can fix and optimize metabolic health in anyone. Moving from medication support to root-cause support is absolutely realistic. It works like this: ?? Gradual dose reduction with close physician oversight ??Root-cause analysis and advanced biomarker testing ?? Finding what nutrient-dense foods are actually best for your unique biochemistry (not all "healthy" foods work best for you) ??Connected devices and real-time monitoring by a care team Are you ready to ride the prevention and reversal wave when is comes to metabolic health?
