Gratitude Wall: Thank You, Glenn Evans? This Thanksgiving week, we’re sharing messages of gratitude from our CIASP community. Today, we’re spotlighting Glenn Evans from GET Thriving, who shared: "The HVAC industry, and the construction industry as a whole, is built by more than just systems and machinery; it’s powered by dedicated people—mechanical engineers, contractors, suppliers, and everyone in between—who’ve not only lifted me up professionally but also personally. This side of the construction industry often goes unnoticed, yet it’s one of the strongest support networks out there. Here’s something many don’t realize: in the U.S., a construction worker is five times more likely to die by suicide than from a job-related injury. And behind those numbers, 90% of us come from challenging backgrounds. The reality is, while we keep people safe and comfortable—warm in winter, cool in summer—we rarely get thanked unless something goes wrong. Today, let’s start showing up for each other in a different way. Let’s have the hard, vulnerable conversations that can truly make a difference. I know how difficult it can be to ask for help, and it’s often even harder to accept it. But here’s the truth: you matter. To every person who’s out there making life better and safer for others, thank you. I know what it’s like to go without heat or indoor plumbing, and because of your work, millions don’t have to. Let’s take a moment to recognize and uplift each other. Tag someone who’s made a difference in your life—let’s remind each other that we’re valued. Thank you for everything you do.” Thank you for your dedication to mental health and suicide prevention in the construction industry. ??
