In the beautiful Bajo Chaco region of Paraguay, nine incredible Indigenous communities are working together to strengthen their resilience through a thoughtful rural development project. Through this project, CWS and our local partner, PSDBA, with generous support from Growing Hope Globally, are committed to fostering sustainable farming practices, promoting women’s leadership, adapting to climate change, and ensuring access to clean water. By focusing on these essential areas, this project is empowering families to build a brighter and more secure future. Learn more https://bit.ly/4kReqjN

Every day, families seeking refuge face fear, separation, and uncertainty. Parents are forced to make impossible choices. Children endure journeys no child should have to take. And as our nation reckons with how it will treat the most vulnerable, we are called—as people of faith—to respond. Sign-on to the Ash Wednesday Ecumenical Declaration Today ?? https://lnkd.in/eRtfxM8D ?Sign today to challenge the false narrative demonizing refugees. ?Hold leaders accountable for upholding justice and compassion. ?Support congregations in taking bold, prayerful action. ?Advocate for policies that restore hospitality and dignity. Severe storms swept through the Midwest and Southern U.S. this weekend, resulting in loss of life and damage to infrastructure. The CWS EPRR team is actively monitoring the situation and plans to engage in any necessary coordination efforts and Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD) discussions to remain informed. Donate to our Emergency Response Fund to support communities affected by the storms. https://bit.ly/4iD6jWa

?? Our hearts are with everyone affected by the recent tornadoes. In times of disaster, the power of coming together is undeniable. Hands reaching out. Hope beginning to rebuild. Thanks to our partners at Ferncliff Disaster Assistance and Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, CWS Kits and CWS Blankets are reaching people in temporary shelters — bringing comfort and relief after the devastating storms. Long-term recovery plans are already underway — including sharing additional CWS Kits — helping people rebuild and restore hope for the future. ?? This is only possible because of YOU. Your generosity turns small acts of kindness into life-changing hope. ?? #CWSTogether #CWSEmergencyResponse #FerncliffDisasterAssistance #PresbyterianDisasterAssistance

Church World Service decries President Trump’s invocation of the Alien Enemies Act of 1798. Last invoked during World War II, it remains a stain on our nation’s history, leading to the detainment of 31,000 Japanese, German, and Italian immigrants based solely on their ancestry. Church World Service calls on President Trump to rescind the invocation of the Act and instead uphold our nation’s refugee and immigration laws. For nearly eight decades, and continuing today, Church World Service has welcomed newcomers by helping them build new lives in the United States. Today’s action by the administration not only harms our new neighbors but faith groups, businesses, and families across America. Read the full statement: https://bit.ly/42bbozi
