Robert Smithson (American, 1938–1973) completed his iconic project 'Spiral Jetty' in 1970, a pathway of rock and earth forming a spiral in Utah’s Great Salt Lake basin. Now on view in our Oval Gallery, 'Hampton Roads Student Exhibition' ?? For over 30 years, the 'Hampton Roads Student Exhibition' has provided high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to exhibit their artwork in a museum. Six student works are on view during March, which is Youth Art Month. The exhibition provides teachable moments for both art practitioners and students. ???? ?
