We had a fang-tastic time at our annual Halloween Party! Christner employees and their families gathered to celebrate the spooky season with festive food and drinks, trick-or-treating, and a rubber duck scavenger hunt. We hope everyone has a safe and fun Halloween!

We are excited and honored to be working alongside Washington University in St. Louis on such a transformative project! Designed to be a resource for the student population and a gathering space for WU alumni and donors, this building will support the University’s dedication to challenging its faculty and students to seek new knowledge and greater understanding of an every-changing, multicultural world.?

To show support for those impacted by blood cancer, Christner employees recently raised money and gathered at The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night event in Forest Park. It was a truly powerful and inspiring evening! This annual event raises awareness and critical funds for blood cancer research and supports those affected. At Christner, we pride ourselves in being invested in the success of our community and are dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of others. This year’s walk was even more meaningful as our very own Michael Browning was diagnosed with Leukemia earlier this year. As an integral part of our firm, we miss having Michael in the office but rally behind him and his family as he undergoes treatment. We are thrilled to announce that two of our projects received recognition at this year’s AIA Central States Design Awards Program! These awards recognize outstanding achievements in all areas of architectural design and construction craft, bring together & celebrate members of the design and construction community, and increase awareness of quality design & its execution in the region. The Center for Creative Arts (COCA) Renovation and Expansion received a Merit Award for Architecture. This multi-phase project roughly doubled COCA’s footprint through an expansion that honors the historic modernist building. This allows COCA to serve more students from the region and offer additional programs, expanding its impact on St. Louis’ cultural and civic communities. The St. Louis Symphony Powell Hall Renovation and Expansion received a Merit Award for Unbuilt Work. As the first major renovation project at the historic Grand Center building since it became the SLSO’s permanent home in 1968, this project will transform the building into a modern venue that enhances the audience and artist experience. Christner is serving as Architect of Record on the project with Sn?hetta as Design Architect. We had the honor of celebrating Nerinx Hall High School with a ribbon cutting for the new Frane Family STEM Center! The Christner team is proud to have provided architectural and interior design services for this 7,800 SF expansion.?The project meets growing demands in STEM education as well as accommodates the high school’s growth in enrollment.?It includes four new science labs, one lab prep room, and a science concourse with collaborative spaces. #architecture #STEM #science #ribboncutting

Welcome to our 2024 summer interns! This summer, we welcomed four new interns who are working directly with the Christner team to support a variety of projects in our office. They will also be leading a research project to collect information on sustainable building, site, and interiors materials and compile them into a shared library. Our internship program provides students an opportunity for immersion in the working environment of a design firm committed to built work. We are excited for them to spend the summer with us! We are honored to announce that our work on SoMa House / St. Louis CITY SC Headquarters has received a 2024 Most Enhanced Award from the Landmarks Association of St. Louis. The Most Enhanced Awards celebrate outstanding examples of restoration, rehabilitation, and adaptive reuse that preserve our community’s architectural heritage. The SoMa (South of Market) building was originally constructed as a manufacturing building for Century Electric in 1918. More recently, it housed several tenants, including the Upper Limits Climbing Gym. It was completely renovated into the headquarters for St. Louis CITY SC’s front office and creative staff. It was a privilege to work on this transformative project in the City of St. Louis! Congratulations to the project team, and all of this year’s award winners.

Our very own Ashley Rau, NCIDQ, LEED Green Associate was honored with an Economic Impact Award at last week’s CREW St. Louis Awards dinner.?This award was given for her integral involvement in the MLS Stadium project.?
