Cecil County families will be feasting this Thanksgiving thanks to our caregivers and community! ?? Our annual food drive helped provide over 50 Gilpin Manor Elementary School families with dinner necessities, including turkey, stuffing, pie, tableware, macaroni & cheese and vegetables ?? We are so grateful to our ChristianaCare Cecil Campus staff for coming together to donate, pack and deliver items to our community members. November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month. ChristianaCare caregivers participated in the National Wear White for Lung Cancer campaign earlier this month to raise awareness about the importance of lung cancer screening. Caregivers organized team days and wore white as a great show of support and unity for Lung Cancer Awareness Month. We encourage eligible community members to receive a low-dose CT scan. Early detection helps save lives by increasing cancer treatability and survival expectancy. Eligibility requirements include: heavy smokers 50 to 80 years old, are a current smoker or quit smoking within the past 15 years, haven’t received a CT scan of their lungs in the past 12 months, and both sites are open to individuals who have received a referral from a provider for lung cancer screening with low-dose CT.
