At Christensen Farms, we are proud to celebrate the incredible women who make an impact every day. Women like Sasha Gibson, who has been with CF for six years! When asked about her career highlights, Sasha shared: ?? “[I love] seeing new hires become successful Specialists and Farm Managers over their years with CF.” Her advice to the next generation of women? It’s about knowing your worth, fostering resilience, and shaping the future: ??“We have to remember that just 50 years ago, things such as being fired for being pregnant, being unable to have a credit card in your own name, or not having access to apply for all jobs was the norm in America." ??"The advice for the next generation of women would be to raise daughters who believe in their own worth, have resilience, and never consider themselves as being less than equal. Additionally, it is important to raise sons who consider themselves equal—not better than anyone else. Let them be able to recognize inequality and have the strength and the courage to make it right.” Thank you, Sasha, for your leadership and commitment to the future of agriculture! ?? Throughout March, we’ll be featuring some of the talented women across our organization, highlighting their careers, achievements, and impact. Meet Arlett Juarez Aldape, a Sow Service Manager who has been with Christensen Farms for eight years! "My career with Christensen Farms has been very fulfilling. I’ve experienced different challenges, learnings, and growth. Loving what I do every day and being passionate about my job has certainly opened many doors." Arlett’s journey at CF started in 2017 as an Animal Care Technician in Sow farms. She quickly advanced to Farrowing Lead within her first year, later earning certifications in Farrowing and Breeding before stepping into a Farm Manager role. "I was recently promoted to the Service Manager role, and by being the first woman 'International Professional' offered this position at CF, I couldn’t be prouder." Beyond her own growth, Arlett finds fulfillment in mentoring others: "Another highlight in my career is the opportunity to contribute and support the training of talented individuals—watching them succeed and achieve their goals—as well as the relationships I’ve built with colleagues, coworkers, leaders, and mentors in the organization." Her advice to the next generation of women in agriculture? ?? Embrace change—there’s always something to learn. ?? Take every opportunity to grow and share your knowledge. ?? Don’t be afraid to take risks and try new things. ?? Ask for help when needed—success is never a solo journey. ?? Recognize your strengths and use them to your advantage. Last month, a few of our contract growers got to visit our partner processing plant, STF. During our Annual Grower Appreciation Event last summer, these growers won a trip to Seaboard Triumph Foods in Iowa! It was a wonderful opportunity to connect our grower partners with the hard work they do every day in raising our pigs through the processing stage of our supply chain.
