关于我们
For over 25 years, Christel House has been dedicated to empowering children from under-resourced communities to realize their potential and transform their futures. We’ve done this by providing the comprehensive support system they need to thrive, both in school and beyond. Our holistic model supports each of our students for 18+ years. This in-depth, whole-child approach integrates rigorous academic learning with nutrition and healthcare, life skills, social support, and college and career guidance. It’s a deep commitment that helps students demonstrate that they have limitless potential. Our schools are at the heart of what we do, serving as the critical bridge between poverty and successful life outcomes for children in some of the most under-resourced communities around the world. We are now committed to reaching even more children with a goal of launching five new schools in the next five years.

This is very exciting. Christel House South Africa has launched a campaign to build a second Grade RR to Grade 12 no-fee school in the Western Cape. Launching our fundraising campaign to build another no-fee school in the Western Cape We are thrilled to announce the launch of our fundraising campaign to establish a new Grade RR–12 school in the Western Cape. The campaign kicked off at an investor briefing event at Wesgro’s offices in Cape Town’s CBD yesterday, where key stakeholders gathered to discuss the province’s urgent need for accessible schooling. Western Cape Minister of Education David Maynier and Ashley Roman, Business Strategy and Stakeholder Management Deputy Director, highlighted the province’s educational challenges and urgent need for accessible, high-quality schooling. Kerry Mauchline, spokesperson for the Western Cape Education Department comments, “We see independent and donor-funded schools as partners in facing the challenges of improving learning outcomes and expanding access to education in the Western Cape. Our province will need to add over 100 000 new places for learners in our schools by 2030 despite severe budget constraints, and the results our independent schools achieve speak for themselves – they can provide quality education and the hope of a better future to learners in poor communities." At the event, Adri Marais, our CEO and David Harris, the President & CEO of Christel House International, unveiled our school expansion strategy and led a discussion on how stakeholder and donor partners can support our expansion through financial investment, service contributions, and sponsorships. “Through our transformative model, a single Christel House school has the power to create a lasting, sustainable future for generations to come,” said Marais. One of our alumni, Nosiviwe Mpukane, also joined us to share her journey—from starting at Christel House South Africa to successfully completing her studies at Stellenbosch University. Edu Invest, powered by Wesgro, is playing a crucial role in driving investment into education. Wesgro CEO, Wrenelle Stander, expressed their commitment: “We could not be more proud to partner with Christel House in this project, as we believe that a thriving economy starts in the classroom.” Christel House International has committed R100 million toward this expansion. This investment is a step in our global organisations mission and impact in the Western Cape and across South Africa. Only 3% of Christel House South Africa alumni fall into the NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) category, compared to the national average of 42%. We believe that one Christel House school can change generations. We invite trusts, foundations, corporate donors, and individuals to partner with us in realising this vision. David Harris, President and CEO of Christel House International, and George Srour, co-founder of Building Tomorrow , wrote a recent opinion published in Indianapolis Business Journal sharing how Indianapolis-based nonprofits are changing life outcomes for thousands around the world and how it should remind us of "Indianapolis' ability to make an outsized impact." Read it below.
Indianapolis has always been a city that punches above its weight. From transforming our downtown to hosting over 500 national and international events, we’ve shown time and again that we’re capable of making an outsized impact—not just at home, but around the world. ? I had the privilege of co-authoring an article for the Indianapolis Business Journal with my friend George Srour, co-founder of Building Tomorrow about how Indianapolis-based organizations like Christel House International and Building Tomorrow are changing the life trajectories of hundreds of thousands of children in some of the most underserved parts of the globe. ? But this isn’t just about what we’re doing abroad. It’s about what these efforts mean for Indianapolis. They deepen our connections to the world, inspire new models for local impact, and remind us that change is possible—even in the face of daunting challenges. Check out the full article and see how Hoosiers are proving that Indianapolis isn’t just a place—it’s a force for good, both here and around the world. ? As I continue to reflect?on how global efforts can inspire local change, I'm always curious to learn from others. What initiatives—near or far—have resonated with you? And how have they influenced your own work or community?
