Vice President of Workforce Development Dessa Morris, MPA and Director of Workforce Development Jami Cash wrapped up the week by leading sessions for Social Circle High School’s Adulting Day. They worked with seniors to develop essential skills for successfully landing on Planet Hired—a fun and engaging approach to career readiness. ?? Day 1: Industrial Maintenance Training Kickoff! ?? Today marks the beginning of something incredible for our community! Thanks to the collaboration of Workforce Innovators, WorkSource Northeast Georgia, Walton County, a local foundation, and the Development Authority of Walton County, we are tackling one of our region’s biggest workforce challenges: filling industrial maintenance positions. Our trainees are engaging in hands-on learning with the Mobile Industrial Maintenance Lab and classroom instruction, gaining technical skills and career-building knowledge. This is more than just training—it’s an investment in our local workforce and a pathway to long-term success in manufacturing and maintenance. This initiative wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of our partners,; we are excited to watch these trainees grow into the future of industry in Walton County! Through the generous support of several community partners, we’re launching a FREE, 8-week Industrial Maintenance Training Program to help build a local pipeline of skilled professionals—one of the toughest roles to fill in Walton County. This program is open to new hires looking to enter the field and current employees interested in upskilling or transitioning into industrial maintenance roles.
