Educators from Walton County Schools came out in force last Friday to tour Takeda’s plasma manufacturing facility in Stanton Springs Industrial Park in celebration of #NationalManufacturingDay! We had more than 25 visitors from across the educational gamut, including superintendents and principals, math and science teachers, career and technical educators, and counselors. Thank you to the educators for taking the time to learn more about what we do, the careers we offer, and our hiring needs, and a big thank you to Jami Cash and Dessa Morris, MPA with the Development Authority of Walton County for organizing the day, which also included tours of Hitachi in the afternoon. It was great to see several familiar faces, including a few teachers who are alumni of the annual educator externship program we do each summer in partnership with Walton and Newton counties. And thank you to our Takeda team for leading the tours, including: ?? Kevin Myrthil and team for sharing about our warehouse and supply chain workforce ?? John Bramlett, Litza Robles, Stacee Kingsberry and Daniel Carusi for talking about the skillsets needed for our manufacturing technicians (while technical skills are important, being a solid employee almost always come back to the basics of soft skills) ?? Hannah Davis and Claire Carson for sharing about the important work we do in our Quality Control Laboratory ?? and Amanda Rosengarten for helping me lead the groups around the site and taking photos.
