Congratulations to Freda Deskin-Lewis, Ph.D. and the Aerospace Science and Technology Education Center (ASTEC) Charter School on the successful closing of their $64,325,000 tax-exempt Series 2024 Bonds. ??The Series 2024 bonds financed the construction and equipping of an approximately 158,659 square foot facility in Oklahoma City including refinancing an existing loan. ASTEC was founded by Dr. Deskin-Lewis, a finalist in NASA’s 1985 “Teacher in Space” program.?The school serves a student base that is approximately 91% Hispanic, 96% economically disadvantaged, and 66% English language learners.?At the time of the financing, ASTEC served approximately 1,260 students in grades PK-12 with plans to grow to serve approximately 2,053 students in grades PK-12 by the school year 2027-28. ?ASTEC will begin its 25th school year in the fall of 2024.? Choice Advisors was proud to sponsor the Children First Foundation’s 3rd Annual Golf Tournament in Phoenix, Arizona.?The Foundation is dedicated to helping Arizona’s underprivileged and homeless children access a quality education.?Since 2012, the Foundation has provided stability and hope for over 5,000 impoverished children, many of which are homeless.?The Foundation’s primary focus is bridging the gap in funding for the Children First Leadership Academy, a free public charter school that fosters success for its students through instilling confidence and eliminating the obstacles that stand in the way of a proper education.?All of the students served live at or below the poverty line.?In any given year, as many as seventy-five percent of the students at the Children First Leadership Academy are homeless. The Foundation also provides support, stability, and hope for children in similar disadvantaged situations at other Edkey?
