We are thrilled to announce the five winners of the 2025 Brooklyn Org Spark Prize for outstanding nonprofits advancing racial justice in New York City’s largest borough. Each of the five nonprofits will receive a $100,000 ‘no strings attached’ grant and will be honored at the Brooklyn Org Spark Breakfast on February 25, 2025 from 8-10 AM at the Barclays Center. Thanksgiving at CHiPS 🦃 ✨ In a recent article, USA Today highlighted the preparations underway at CHiPS and other food pantries and soup kitchens across the country that serve hundreds of individuals and families in need on Thanksgiving day. From organizing food drives to collecting donations, with your support we ensured that all of our guests received a warm, hearty meal this Thanksgiving. With the help of over 30 volunteers, we served meals to around 300 families. We’re so grateful to our community for supporting us this season and all year round. Whether you're donating time, food, or funds, your support makes all the difference. 🎉 Celebrating One Year of the Mobile Pantry Van Program It's hard to believe that it’s already been a year since we launched our Mobile Pantry Van program, and what an incredible journey it’s been! Over the past 12 months, we've been able to bring essential food and resources directly to those in need at four additional stops, making a meaningful difference in our community, and expanding our pantry program beyond our brick and mortar. In the past year the Mobile Pantry Van: - gave out over 10,000 pantry bags - served an additional 3,000 households - made over 100 regular stops to three different locations: two public schools and a NYCHA housing facility - made bi-weekly stops with Halal pantry items to a Bengali community in Kensington Thank you to everyone who has supported this program—our amazing volunteers, partners, and community members. We look forward to continuing to serve, support, and uplift our neighbors in the year ahead. Here’s to many more years of making a positive impact! 

👏 Our 2023 Annual Report is Out As 2024 comes to a close, we're reflecting on what we were able to do in 2023. Our 2023 Annual Report takes a deeper look at our impact in 2023 and how it was possible. In 2023, we served more hot meals than ever, increasing our output by over 100 percent. We began the expansion of our pantry program in November of 2023, by rolling out our Mobile Pantry Van, which allows us to reach even farther in our mission to ameliorate food insecurity. In our Frances Residence, we continued to provide studio apartments to mothers facing housing insecurity, supporting our residents through job training, parenting classes, personal health clinics, and community events. Meet our 2024 corporate partner! NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital has been a generous and active supporter of our work at CHiPS. They’ve awarded CHiPS many grants, the most recent of which supports our transition to a client-choice pantry model, which will allow our guests to choose what foods they would like to receive from our pantry. New York-Presbyterian staff also routinely visits CHiPS and completes volunteer shifts with enthusiasm and care. New York-Presbyterian also hosts a canned good drive yearly to support our pantry with delicious and much needed shelf stable food items.
