CAA is excited to invite YOU to volunteer with our organization! ?? Adult Chinese adoptees, other adoptees, family members, and allies are invited to apply! A brief description of each committee is below. ? APPLICATIONS ARE DUE TUESDAY, JULY 30TH! Access the application via linkt.ree/chineseadopteealliance Interviews: - We aim to complete interviews on a rolling basis until Tuesday, August 6th. - Depending on your application, you may get invited to have an interview for more than one committee. Email us at [email protected] with any questions! Current Committees: ?? Regional Events: Facilitates in-person events in a certain region (regions dependent on level of interest). ?? Virtual Events: Facilitates online events. ?? Communications: Manages social media, emails, and website. ?? Advancement: Oversees fundraising, membership, and merch. ?? Equity: Assesses community dynamics through a social justice lens and develops relationship-building strategies and policy recommendations for the Board. Pilot Committees:* ?? Revamped Mentorship/One-on-One Connections: Facilitates 1:1 connections amongst adoptees (can be through mentorship, pen pal program, or 1:1 meetups). ?? Collaborative Events: Facilitates events with folks who are not CAA volunteers, but who want to host a one-off event. ?? Long Term Programming: Organizes a program that has a repeating nature/requires ongoing participation (e.g. identity-specific resource group, group language class, ongoing volunteering program, etc.). ?? Chinese Adoptee Conference: Researches the requirements for such a conference, develops the goal/vision, and creates an action plan and timeline. (*Pilot Committees may get formed depending on interest!) About CAA: Chinese Adoptee Alliance is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit supporting Chinese adoptees and allies. CAA was formerly called Families with Children from China - Greater NY (FCCNY), which was started in the 1990s in Manhattan as an adoptive parent support group and expanded to a nationwide network. CAA is now adoptee-centered and primarily adoptee-led, serving the greater Chinese adoptee community and the global community of adoptees and allies.
