This initiative is a collaboration of the Mental Health Association of Maryland (MHAMD) and the Maryland Coalition of Families (MCF) with support from the Maryland Department of Health—Behavioral Health Administration. For more than 20 years, the Campaign has brought together partners, schools, non-profits, and other agencies with the following goals: 1. increasing public awareness of the importance of children’s mental health and substance use 2. reducing stigma surrounding mental health 3. connecting children and families with resources for prevention and support of mental health conditions 4. highlighting creative and innovative efforts of local communities in Maryland 5. providing opportunities for all Campaign partners and Champions to be a role model

? Parents spend a countless amount of time feeding their babies. What do you do while you're feeding your baby? Here are three tips to help support your mental health at the same time: 1?? Breathing exercises: Take a deep breath in through your nose and exhale through your mouth. A shorter inhale than your exhale helps lower your heart rate and increase relaxation. ?????♀? 2?? Stretch: It’s tempting to look down at your baby ??, but looking down can cause tension in your shoulders and neck. Practice looking up or give your upper body a gentle stretch. ??♀?? 3?? Affirmations: Name 3 things you're grateful for ?? or recite your favorite mantra. ?? Feeding can be stressful, so why not support your mental health at the same time? ?? ?
