Tyler, an 18-year-old with autism and ADHD, had a tough journey growing up. He went through adoption, moved across the country, and had to adjust to a new life, which was very hard for him. Tyler often sought attention, leading to many struggles and conflicts with others. When he moved from his regular school to our Day Treatment program, he knew it would be challenging. But with help from our therapists, Tyler's life got better. Through therapy, Tyler learned how to control his emotions better and build positive relationships with others. He went back to regular learning and now gets along well with our staff and his peers. Tyler is finishing his last two months in the program and high school, getting ready for adulthood. He is ready to face the world with confidence, using the skills and support he has to succeed. It fills our hearts with joy to know that we helped Tyler grow, and we're so glad we could be a part of his journey!?? *Child's name and photo have been changed for his protection, but his story is very real. #SuccessStory #DayTreatment #Therapy #Therapists

#FeaturedFriday ?? Meet Kristin Slaughter, one of our fabulous Foster Care Case Managers! In her role, Kristin monitors and supports foster parents as they care for youth who are experiencing foster care. She links and coordinates services for the children and families to ensure they are receiving the necessary support and treatment to promote healing. She also assists the families with implementing the Teaching Family Model of care into their daily routine and structure of the home.?? "One of my favorite things about working at CHA is being able to work directly with the youth and foster families. I have the opportunity to be a small part of the great work that my foster parents are doing on a daily basis, and I have been blessed to work with some truly amazing foster families. I love being able to see the progress the youth make as they work towards their permanency goals. WOW ?? The Joey Logano Foundation recently made an incredible donation of 500 kits filled with essential items to CHA for the families we serve! These kits include toothbrushes, hand sanitizer, hairbrushes, elastic ponytail holders, mesh bath puffs, and more. With this amazing donation, we can restock our Hope Closet that is filled with essential goods for our families when they need them.
