The Children with Diabetes team had an amazing time at the inaugural CWD President’s Reception at Advanced Technologies & Treatments for Diabetes (ATTD)-Asia. Held in the Grand Ballroom of the JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach, this invitation-only event celebrated the partnership between ATTD and CWD and helped to celebrate those living with type 1 diabetes. We were honored to have so many guests join us for this very special event. Attendees were each given a bronze coin to commemorate the evening and this first ATTD conference in Asia. During the reception, we celebrated 18 #dedoco voices participants with their very own CWD Journey Award and cheered for them as we recognized that living with type 1 can be challenging but it’s better when we do it together, as a global diabetes family. #CWDiabetes #Type1Diabetes #T1D #CareTodayCureTomorrow #ATTDAsia

National Diabetes Awareness Month is the perfect opportunity to discuss the symptoms of type 1 diabetes (T1D). Although our community is familiar with these symptoms, not everyone is, so we’ve created a graphic you can share with your followers. Here’s what to watch out for in children and adults: 1?? Frequent Thirst 2?? Frequent Urination 3?? Increased Hunger 4?? Unexplained Weight Loss 5?? Blurred Vision 6?? Fatigue Recognizing these symptoms early can be life-saving, as they can lead to diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), a potentially life-threatening condition. If you notice any of these signs, it’s essential to consult a healthcare professional immediately. Early diagnosis can make all the difference! We had the honor of kicking off National Diabetes Awareness Month by ringing the closing bell at Nasdaq alongside embecta and fellow advocates in the diabetes community. It was a great opportunity to raise awareness and spotlight the importance of diabetes care. ???????

The CWD team is honored to join healthcare providers, other advocacy organizations, and embecta to commemorate Diabetes Awareness Month and World Diabetes Day this Thursday, November 7th, with the ringing of the Nasdaq Closing Bell. The Closing Bell is live-streamed on MarketSite Tower in Times Square, the Nasdaq Webcam, and Nasdaq Facebook Page, as well as on TV networks such as CNBC, Fox Business News, Bloomberg TV, and Bloomberg Canada.

Our Friends for Life Anaheim event was truly magical! ?? Nearly 300 attendees—many first-timers and newly diagnosed families—came together to learn, connect, and celebrate life with type 1 diabetes, all with a sprinkle of Disney enchantment at the Happiest Place on Earth. From hugs, shared stories, and tears to gaining practical tools for thriving with T1D, it was a weekend to remember. Teens wrote heartfelt letters to Fiffles at every age and stage of T1D, Kiddie Kove kids crafted Ghost-O-Lanterns, we penned encouragement notes for our TeamCWD runners, and even enjoyed a spooky "Scare-e-oke" night! ??????? Our hearts are full after a weekend together, and we can’t wait until next time! Stay tuned for a full recap next week with all the highlights from this unforgettable experience.
