Social media is rammed with videos from fitness to the arts. Though many of us are linked up to these platforms, there are some children and adults who aren’t. It takes really knowing what you are looking for to find quality content that hits the mark for what you want. It’s time consuming. The internet is undoubtedly a huge part of the theatrical experience now, from booking tickets to Google mapping. We want Children’s Digital Theatre to be the go to place for children and their families to explore theatre from top emerging/ established children’s theatre companies and venues with hassle-free navigation. Children’s Theatre is more than just a category and here, you’ll find it all neatly categorised, from Physical Theatre through to Opera. We want to inspire children and their families to engage in theatre even if they can’t access it physically and have the confidence to participate in workshops to acquire new skills because sharing stories is one of the most important things we can do. Creativity is such an important part of a child’s development, it’s what encourages innovation, collaboration and key communication skills. We will also ensure the site has BSL and NLP friendly spaces and is diverse in content so everyone feels at home; after all, that’s what storytelling and sharing is about, inclusivity.
