Lunch and learn sessions are always an enjoyable and effective way to get to know new supporters and this week’s session with Taylor Woodrow was no exception. More than 25 staff members gave up their lunch break on a glorious sunny day to join us online to learn more about Children’s Hospice South West as well as hear about the impact their fundraising efforts will have on local children with life-limiting conditions and their families. ?? Taylor Woodrow’s Senior Community Engagement Officer Owen Martin opened the session highlighting why CHSW was nominated this year as regional charity partner: “This regional partnership aligns perfectly with our community engagement goals for the year and offers fantastic opportunities for our employees to support local community initiatives and fundraising events. Our teams are always keen to support the communities in which they work throughout our region and the collaboration with CHSW offers us a unique opportunity to do this, whilst raising funds for such an important local cause.“??? We’re thrilled at CHSW to be working with such a generous and caring organisation. Their support will help us continue to provide our vital services for local families when they need us most. There are lots of planned fundraising events at Taylor Woodrow across their SW branches, watch this space – there’s going to be a lot going on ?? Providing hospice care for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions.
关于我们
Children’s Hospice South West cares for families with children and young people who have a life-limiting or life-threatening condition, who are unlikely to live to adulthood. At our three beautiful children’s hospices in Devon, Cornwall and Bristol, we support parents, brothers and sisters and the affected child from diagnosis towards bereavement and beyond. We can relieve the burden of caring for a sick child from families and allow them to spend precious time together focusing on just being a family. To face the reality of losing your child means those who desperately need our help face an uncertain and fragile future. We walk alongside them providing respite care, palliative and ultimately end of life care for their child. We need to raise just under £12 million a year to run our three hospices. The money that we receive from the Government is not guaranteed each year, therefore we need to rely entirely on voluntary contributions to safeguard our service into the future. Our new regional charity partner, Plantforce, which has offices in Weston-super-Mare, Exeter and Liskeard, has been visiting our 3 hospices to understand exactly what services we provide and how their fundraising and volunteering will help the local families we care for. After their visit to Charlton Farm the Plantforce team have given us this feedback which we are delighted to share: "Charlton Farm, despite the difficult circumstances, has such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It was very emotional and an eye-opening experience for us. It has made us want to fundraise and support Children’s Hospice South West as much as we can. We are so grateful to have been given the opportunity to tour the hospice. We were so impressed with the facilities and how much support you provide to not only the children, but their siblings and families too. We can’t commend you all enough for the fantastic work you all do, and we look forward to fundraising for yourselves and the relationship we will build together." Jade Jackson, Accounts?Payable?/?Charity?Committee?Lead Being able to show our supporters exactly how their fundraising supports local families is a really special part of what we offer. If you'd also like to visit our hospice, just like Plantforce did, to see exactly how families are cared for, just email us at [email protected] and we'll be delighted to arrange it.
