Children and adolescents are exposed to 2-3 food marketing messages for every 30 minutes spent on #SocialMedia, according to a recent study - adding up to over 8000 ads a year. The study found most ads targeted to youth featured unhealthy foods like fast food, snacks, candy, and soft drinks while prioritizing appealing and "cool" visuals to entice youth. 29% of these ads were seen on YouTube, 23% on Pinterest, and 20% on TikTok.
