Providing educational opportunities for under-resourced Philadelphia children since 2001.
关于我们
Children's Scholarship Fund Philadelphia (CSFP) is a privately-funded program whose mission is to provide children from under-resourced Philadelphia families with financial access to quality, safe, K-8th grade, tuition-based schools, thereby increasing their long-term economic and social success. CSFP grants need-based scholarships to children from low-income Philadelphia families, all of which are awarded by random lottery. Your business can get involved with CSFP by volunteering, sponsoring an event or learning about how to use your PA tax liability to fund scholarships for low-income children. Learn more about the EITC and OSTC programs at https://www.csfphiladelphia.org/tax-credits/. CSFP was established as part of the CSF National organization in 1998. CSFP is now the largest provider of K-8th grade scholarship support in PA. Since 1999, CSFP has awarded over 28,500 scholarships to children in need of quality elementary education. CSFP scholarships provide children from under-resourced families with the financial assistance they need in order to attend quality tuition-based schools, and our program yields great outcomes for students. Current CSFP students attend school over 96% of the time and consistently surpass their peers by achieving at or above grade level in math and reading on standardized tests. CSFP alumni maintain a 96% on-time high school graduation rate (compared to a Philadelphia public high school graduation rate of 60%). CSFP scholarships are in great demand. Each year, we turn away about 7,000 children whose parents are desperate for quality educational opportunities for their children. Interested in supporting Children's Scholarship Fund Philadelphia? What an amazing Children's Scholarship Fund Philadelphia K-8th grade school fair we had at Community College of Philadelphia this past weekend! Sam Jones and Christopher B. Brewington did an excellent job organizing the event with Leah Garloff making sure #Philly families were aware of the opportunity. More than 30 CSFP partner schools were there to meet with families applying for CSFP #scholarships. Thank you Dorae Sudell and Jill Ruggiero at UnitedHealth Group for donating school supplies. We’ll do it again next year! Love that the PA/DE Healthplan and UnitedHealthcare is passionate about supporting our local community. We were able to provide Children's Scholarship Fund Philadelphia with school supplies to fill kiddos backpacks! Seeing the smiles on the faces of the children is the best medicine!

EITC stands or "Educational Improvement Tax Credit.” It is a program offered in PA and other states to incentivize donors to transform state tax liability into scholarships! Tax credits may be applied against the tax liability of a PA business for the tax year in which the contribution was made. Businesses are also eligible for a small federal return. Business can receive credits for 75 percent of its contribution up to a maximum of $750,000 per taxable year. If a business agrees to provide the same amount for two consecutive tax years, that amount can be increased to 90 percent of the contribution!
