A child’s environment can have a significant role in their health, a new meta-analysis shows. The systematic review, published in Pediatrics, found that lower neighborhood opportunity—measured by the Child Opportunity Index (COI)—is associated with higher risks of mortality, emergency department visits and hospitalizations among children. “We hope our review is a catalyst in the shift towards the development of interventions, done in partnership with families and communities to gain a deeper understanding of how place impacts care,” says Dr. Jordan Tyris. https://lnkd.in/ef2vFQRz
