Children’s Literacy Initiative in collaboration with our partners at Literacy Alliance of Northeast Florida and My Village Project, invite you to an inspiring evening as we screen Sentenced, a powerful documentary that exposes the alarming decline in literacy rates across the United States and its devastating impact on generational poverty and health. This event offers a unique opportunity for advocates passionate about the future of our children and our nation to come together and engage in meaningful discussion. What an inspiring time the CLI team had at the?Texas Head Start Association Annual Conference! Conversations that start with something as simple as "tell us about your favorite childhood book" serve as reminders of how much power there is when people—children especially–are represented in the books they read. When windows and mirrors are provided in books, there are positive impacts, such as, shaping young minds, affirming positive identity, and fostering a genuine love of learning. Seeing the passion for bringing diverse, inclusive stories into classrooms fuels our mission even more. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to connect, share, and celebrate literacy with us.
