Children's Fairyland

We are on Ohlone Land. Ohlone is a term that refers to Indigenous people from at least eight regions across California, with distinct languages and origin stories, from Big Sur to Solano County. These regions are home to multiple villages, tribes, and family groups, all connected through rich histories and deep ties to the land. The term “Ohlone” was reclaimed by the Native people of the Bay Area who share experiences of the mission system and the colonization of California, though most tribes prefer their own tribal names in their own languages. Fairyland and the Sogorea Te’ Land Trust came together to make the Ohlone Land sign a reality, inspired by a digital rendering of the sign the Sogorea Te’ Land Trust imagined last year. Children’s Fairyland sits in the unceded ancestral homeland of the Ohlone people, the original inhabitants and stewards of this land. Children's Fairyland is pleased to announce an electrifying new partnership with The PG&E CORPORATION FOUNDATION. The PG&E Corporation Foundation has generously committed funding to help underwrite our wildly popular accessibility program, Fairyland for All, for the next three years! Fairyland for All launched in April 2023, providing $5 admission year-round for families with EBT, SNAP, CalFresh, BIC, or WIC cards. The program also ensures qualifying families can obtain free membership after just two visits at this reduced rate. Since its inception, Fairyland for All has welcomed over 14,000 guests through the Fairy Gates. The Fairyland for All initiative exemplifies our dedication to making Fairyland accessible to all families, regardless of economic circumstances. With the support of The PG&E Corporation Foundation, we anticipate welcoming tens of thousands more visitors through the Fairy Gates. This partnership goes beyond financial support. It represents a joint commitment between Fairyland and The PG&E Corporation Foundation to foster inclusivity and continue to create safety for children, families, and communities throughout the Bay Area. ??Children's Fairyland named as a Non-Profit of the Year! We're so excited to share that Fairyland has been honored as the 2024 California Non-Profit of the Year by Assemblymember Mia Bonta!? This recognition highlights our ongoing commitment to bringing joy, creativity, and imagination to children and families in Oakland and the Bay Area. For nearly 75 years, Fairyland has been a magical place for kids to explore and learn, inspired by our beloved location on Lake Merritt. We're incredibly grateful for this honor and for the unwavering support from our community.
