ChildFund Alliance has joined over 110 civil society organizations in calling for immediate action to protect and empower women and girls in the digital age. The public statement, initiated by Soroptimist International HQ and the Conference of NGOs in Consultative Relationship with the United Nations, highlights the increasing use of AI to gaslight and manipulate women and girls, amplifying harmful behaviors and instilling self-doubt. As an organization dedicated to promoting children's rights and well-being, we believe it is imperitave that we take a stand against any form of violence or discrimination against women and girls. We are honored to be attending this year’s United Nations Commission on the Status of Women #CSW69 in New York, along with our ChildFund Alliance colleagues. Join us tomorrow in a live-streamed side-event as we discuss the vital role of shared care responsibilities and the need to address gender-based violence to achieve gender equality. ? “Children and the Promise of Gender Equality: Achieving Shared Care Responsibilities and Addressing Gender-Based Violence at Beijing+30” ?? Thursday, 13 March 2025 @ 9:15 - 10:45 am ET ?? Register here: https://lnkd.in/em5J-asf ? Our colleague Stefania Piccinelli will be moderating a panel of researchers and women’s rights advocates. During this event, she will also present our newly released report, “Her Future at Risk: The Cost of Humanitarian Crises on Women and Girls.”? The report explores the disproportionate impact that conflicts and humanitarian crises have on women and girls—from the Sahel to Afghanistan and Palestine, from Ukraine to Mozambique. It also highlights the urgent need to ensure women and girls are at the center of the humanitarian response to stop violence and gender-based discrimination. Today and everyday, we remain committed to promoting gender equality and human rights worldwide.
