Meet Emma Gardner, CSI's Marketing Specialist!? Emma has always been drawn to mission-driven work, where she can witness the positive impact of her work within her community. After years in libraries, she was drawn to Child Saving Institute, excited to continue engaging with the public through social media.?? ? She values using her creativity to champion what’s best for each child and family and feels privileged to work alongside service-oriented, dedicated colleagues who genuinely care about what's going on in each other's lives.?? ? Outside of work, Emma enjoys family time and playing with her puppy, Frank, who loves chasing bubbles!??

Today, two of our team members attended the CODE Conference, where one session specifically highlighted the disparities in education that many children face in Omaha. Barriers like hunger, lack of transportation, and unstable home environments make it difficult for children to thrive within the walls of a classroom. These insights serve as a powerful reminder of why we do the work we do at CSI. Every child deserves the opportunity to succeed, no matter their circumstances. By recognizing and addressing these barriers, we can help children overcome challenges that they shouldn’t have to face alone, unlocking their full potential. This experience reinforces the importance of DEI work—not just in the workplace, but in creating a more equitable future for all children. We’re so proud of Lora Sladovnik, our Director of Mental Health Services, for representing Child Saving Institute at the Mary C. Lopez community forum yesterday! Alongside other local leaders, she participated in a vital discussion addressing the mental health challenges our youth face today. Thank you to United Way of the Midlands and Film Streams for bringing this important conversation to the forefront!

Since October 1st, 1984, Evell has worn a number of different hats at CSI, ranging from social work, administration, adoption recruiting, pregnancy counseling, development and more. Though our agency has undergone numerous changes over the past four decades, Evell has consistently embodied our purpose of championing what's best for each child and family. Every aspect of her work is carried out with heart and humanity, and as an agency, we could not be prouder to have her on our team. Congrats on 40 years, Evell!????
