The Child Life Academic Society Inaugural Board of Directors has five members. The Executive Director, President and President-Elect must be employed in a full-time child life academic role to hold one of these positions. There is also an Emeriti Delegate who represents former full-time child life academics and a Public Director who represents a profession that closely works alongside child life professionals. These individuals, along with the Founders Council, have been instrumental in moving CLAS from concept to reality. Since assuming their official leadership roles in January 2024, these steadfast board members have worked with CLAS committee members to produce foundational governance and academic best practice guidelines. In 2023, CLAS was officially established as a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization with the vision to protect and advance the quality of child life education through its programs, advocacy and research. Fellow child life academics have worked diligently to establish the organization’s official documents which are now available on the website. The official documents include: Mission, Vision, and Values 2025 Strategic Plan Academic Best Practices Student Bill of Rights Check out the website to learn more about CLAS and our vision for enhancing the academic preparation of Certified Child Life Specialists. https://lnkd.in/gr33t8ys
