Our Mission: To be there for every foster child in Silicon Valley who has experienced abuse, neglect and/or abandonment.
关于我们
Child Advocates of Silicon Valley is an independent nonprofit 501 (c) 3 organization founded in 1986. We serve children aged birth to 21 years old who are placed in the Santa Clara County Dependency Court System (commonly referred to as foster care) for having experienced trauma in the form of abuse, neglect and/or abandonment. We serve children in foster care by: -ensuring every child has a caring and stable adult in their life, an Advocate, while navigating the system; -influencing local policies and decisions that affect the children we serve; -building enduring community partnerships to broaden and strengthen our impact. We are also an affiliate of the National Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Association. As an affiliate, we are responsible for operating the CASA program in Santa Clara County according to the national guidelines, which entails recruiting, training and supporting CASA Volunteers.

During last week's Día de los Muertos celebrations, our youth and CASA Volunteers came together to honor their loved ones by decorating personalized frames. ?? Led by our Lived Experience CASA Specialist, Angelina Rodriguez,?this activity allowed our youth to express their love through art, pay tribute to those who have passed, and experience a moment of healing and connection. ?? “This frame is dedicated to my grandparents. I remember my mom used to set up our ofrenda every year for Dia De Los Muertos with their pictures and their favorite things. I’m going to put their picture in it.” - Sara* ?? *An alias was used to preserve the privacy of the child. #NonProfit #FosterYouth #FosterCare #DiadelosMuertos
