Thanks to financial assistance through a Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)-funded program, he enrolled in a culinary apprenticeship. Fast forward to September 2024, he became a Certified Kitchen Cook and landed a $40k a year role at a top hotel in downtown Chicago.
