As someone who has spent over 30 years in the food service industry, I feel compelled to share my recent experience at Juniors Restaurant in Midtown Manhattan. While the weather in New York was great, the service at Juniors was not. Despite being in a high profile area, the slow service was disappointing. What was even more disappointing was the quality of the food. As a deli expert, I was shocked to receive a corned beef sandwich that was cut WITH the grain. Even after I complained, the replacement sandwich was even worse than the first. It's a shame that the delicious delicatessens of the past seem to be disappearing. The only one left that I can recommend is Jack's Deli in Cleveland, OH. Let's hope that restaurants like Jack's Deli continue to uphold the tradition of quality and expertise in the food service industry.
