The Chicano Park Museum and Cultural Center is located in the heart of Barrio/ Logan Heights, Chicano Park, and is now officially open to the community as of October 2022. Its mission, "by preserving a history of struggle, we will educate and empower individuals to become agents of change in their own communities." The inaugural exhibition, “PILLARS: Stories of Resilience and Self-Determination,” is the premiere of a collective historical narrative of Chicano Park and Logan Heights curated by Josephine Talamantez, Dr. Alberto Pulido, and Valerie Jaimes. This exhibition highlights grass root led groups and organizations that represent the heart of Chicano Park and it’s history including: Kumeyaay Story, The Chicano Park Steering Committee, San Diego Lowrider Council, Aztlan Youth Brigade, Rolas Inolvidables de Aztlan, Danza Chichimeca-Tolteca, La Danza Folklorica, Teatro Chicano/a/x, Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Centro Cultural de la Raza, Union del Barrio, and The Brown Berets. In addition, the exhibition showcases an installation by Visionary Elder Artist, Salvador Roberto Torres.
