This summer, the CYC Sailing School welcomed over 500 young sailors to Belmont Station. From ‘Learn to Sail’ classes to high performance race teams, our sailors and coaches worked hard every day to make the most of their season on the water! Our youth race teams competed at 12 different events, from local regattas to national championships and even the CORK International Regatta in Kingston, Ontario! While the summer may be over, the sailing season is far from done. The CYC Opti, Laser, and High School Race Teams have been out on the water after school to build on their summer training and keep the momentum going for the end-of-season championships and winter sailing down in Florida. Now, our staff are hard at work planning next summer's courses to ensure Sailing School 2025 is the best season yet. We’ll see you on the water!

Cole Brauer, the first American woman to sail nonstop around the world alone, visited Chicago Yacht Club on Sunday! She spent some time talking to our youth sailors and then held a session for our adult members. Cole talked about how she prepared for sailing 130 days by herself and the good, the bad, and the ugly of being alone on a sailboat for such a long time. It's safe to say that anyone who came to this special event left feeling inspired and in awe of this remarkable sailor!
