关于我们

The Chicago Women's Leadership Accelerator (CWLA) is a targeted leadership development program designed to close the gender leadership gap by empowering and equipping career driven women with essential skills for leading in today’s complex business landscape. The CWLA provides a focused, high quality, and intimate professional development experience that builds emotional intelligence and inclusive leadership skills- valuable leadership competencies that directly enhance team performance, organizational culture, and improve employee retention. This leadership accelerator is crafted to propel your career to the next leadership echelon. The CWLA offers interactive and actionable professional development, a powerful panel discussion with recognized business leaders, professional headshots, wholesome meals, and a networking happy hour. The CWLA is unlike most women’s leadership conferences with an unwavering commitment to inclusivity, diversity, and its targeted focus on developing mid-level managers and emerging people leaders. Since 2022, the CWLA has helped develop the leadership capabilities of over 250 women leaders and has evolved into a recognized leadership development experience with strong support from some of from some of Chicago’s top senior leaders. The CWLA WHY Despite extensive efforts to dissolve gender disparities in leadership roles, women still encounter formidable obstacles in attaining such positions. The fact is women comprise over half of the U.S. population and 40% of its workforce, but women remain significantly underrepresented in leadership roles, particularly women of color. Surprisingly, recent studies show that the gender leadership gap continues to widen, despite widespread initiatives for parity. The CWLA arises from the imperative to increase representation of women in leadership and equips women with knowledge and tools to become effective, emotionally intelligent, and inclusive leaders.

Women’s History Month is a time to celebrate the brilliance, resilience, and contributions of women throughout history. But it’s also a moment to acknowledge a hard truth: women are not a minority—we are minoritized. We make up more than half of the population, yet systemic barriers continue to push us to the margins. Pay gaps, leadership gaps, and cultural narratives that diminish our power are not accidental; they are the result of structures that were not built with us in mind. When we shift our language from minority to minoritized, we recognize that inequities are not a reflection of women’s capabilities, but rather of systemic exclusion. The disparities women face were created—and with intention and action, they can be dismantled. ?? Pay women equitably. ?? Sponsor and mentor women. ?? Advocate for and invest in women’s professional development. ?? Disrupt bias, microaggressions, and discrimination—and remember that allyship is a verb, not a noun. ?? Support women founders—invest your capital in their businesses and buy their products. ?? Build workplaces where all women—especially women of color, LGBTQ+ women, and women with disabilities—can thrive, not just survive. ?? Include the voices and insights of women at decision-making tables. And most importantly—commit to doing these things all year long, not just during the month of March. #WomensHistoryMonth
