We are pleased to announce that Candace Williams has joined the CUE team as our Interim Executive Director. Candace brings extensive experience, a deep commitment to our mission, and a strong connection to CUE. Candace supported CUE as Interim Executive Director during Niketa's leave in 2022, ensuring the Team successfully launched the recruitment for the 2023 Fellowship cohort and the 2022 Annual Showcase. Her leadership will ensure that our team is well-supported, our programming remains uninterrupted, and we continue to make meaningful progress on our strategic initiatives. Our Director of Communications and Narrative Strategy, Christina Córdova-Herrera, MAMC, attended the 2024 Breakin' It Down Chicago Conference on Friday, October 25, at Malcolm X College. While there, she connected with some of our Fellows: Athena Williams, a 2024 Fellow and member of the conference planning committee; Cecily Relucio, a 2024 Fellow; and Isaias Solis, a 2019 Fellow. Breakin' It Down is a volunteer-led organization committed to advancing racial equity across Chicago's nonprofit, philanthropic, and fundraising sectors. The organization enriches and empowers underrepresented and underserved communities by cultivating diverse change agents through programs that enhance fundraising skills, resource development, and mission impact, all with a focus on equity.
