Over 60 CTI team members and friends/family members recently participated in the 14th Annual Angels Against Abuse 5K at Lewis University. This event hosted by Guardian Angels Community Support Services helps raise awareness of and promote the prevention of domestic violence. The Groundwork Domestic Violence Program through GACSS is available to help survivors of domestic violence. Last week a group of team members had the incredible opportunity to explore the world of steel manufacturing at Nucor Steel School in Kankakee, Illinois. Nucor is a global leader in the steel industry, and the Kankakee facility showcases the pinnacle of modern steel production. For more than 50 years Nucor has pioneered circular, electric arc furnace (EAF) steelmaking that recycles scrap into new steel. Their products are made from an average of 77% recycled content, with some containing almost 100% recycled content! We were privileged to witness their exceptional work firsthand. Our CTI Interns have been busy this week! Yesterday we celebrated National Intern Day by hosting Interns from one of our vendor partners Zekelman Industries. They were gracious enough to bring out their BBQ Food Truck for our CTI Team Members to enjoy. This morning the CTI Interns presented to our Executive and Leadership Teams what they have been working on this summer, what they have learned, and their overall internship experience. The invaluable experience of an internship with CTI was the consistent message throughout their presentations. It is hard to believe that the summer is already coming to a close and that our CTI Interns will soon be back off to school.
