Members of CTA’s Veteran Employee Resource Group (VERG) once again participated in this year’s Habitat for Humanity/Veterans Build program on Saturday, November 2. Team members from our Infrastructure department used their expertise to build a deck and garden beds for a Veteran in the Chicagoland area. ? VERG serves CTA employees throughout the year, connecting them to various initiatives and resources that promote career and personal growth. Continuing to serve their broader Veteran community is also a priority for this group and we are proud of the work they have done over the years through Habitat for Humanity/Veterans Build. A little chilly weather didn’t stop #TeamCTA from showing up in force to participate in the Wellness Sponsored races this past weekend. Saturday, we hustled our way around the lovely Pilsen neighborhood for the Carerra de los Muertos 5k. Racers enjoyed the scenery and then took in the post race festival in style. Sunday was no different with hundreds of employees getting their exercise on while participating in all 4 race categories - 2-mile walk, 5k, 10k, and 15k. Pre-race meet and greets, and tasty hot chocolate aided in some amazing colleague comradery.
