Awesome time participating in Cradles to Crayons Backpack-A-Thon at Wintrust Arena today. This year Cradles to Crayons will be providing more than 100,000 Chicagoland students with brand-new learning supplies before the school year begins. Community love ????

Sky Cares recently had the opportunity to host our Title IX Tour at the Chicago Red Stars and After School Matters Soccer clinic with Gwendolyn Brooks High School. Huge thanks to the Chicago Red Stars for their willingness to engage in community partnership and help create an impactful experience for the youth. Students participated in various drills led by Red Stars community coaches before playing a competitive scrimmage. Sky Cares closed the event discussing the importance of Title IX and women’s sports! Sky Cares was thrilled to provide an VIP experience to an Uplifting Athletes family vs the Minnesota Lynx. Uplifting Athletes is an organization that provides unique experiences to families that’s been impacted by rare diseases. 1 in 10 Americans will be diagnosed with a rare disease. Thank you to Uplifting Athletes and the amazing work you do in the community.?

This weekend the Chicago Sky WNBA and Chicago Sky Cares Foundation participated in UChicago Medicine Dosar Day of service with Project H.O.O.D. Pastor Corey Brooks shared the history and motivation behind this groundbreaking project before providing us with a tour of the new Leadership and Economic Opportunity Center. We finished with a painting project at the Project H.O.O.D Charter School. Huge thank you to UCM, Project H.O.O.D, Pastor Brooks and his entire staff for hosting the Chicago Sky. Community love.

With the growth of women’s basketball and new found energy, Sky Cares believes it’s vital to share the impact and origins of Title IX, gender equity and how it impacts the lives of young athletes today. We created the Sky Cares Title IX Tour, a workshop dedicated to highlighting the importance of the law and empowering young female athletes today. Catch the Sky Cares Title IX Tour throughout the 2024 Chicago Sky season as we celebrate, discuss and explore new ways to improve the quality of young women athletes playing experience.
