Thank you to everyone who participated in Chicago Public Library's #OneBookOneChicago 2024 season. This season's programming offered events highlighting the intersectionality between video games and literature. Yesterday, patrons packed Harold Washington Library's Cindy Pritzker Auditorium for the season finale of One Book, One Chicago with a keynote discussion featuring Gabrielle Zevin, Author of #TomorrowAndTomorrowAndTomorrow, the One Book, One Chicago 2024 reading selection. Zevin was in conversation with author, writer and ALA's Booklist Magazine Editor Donna Seaman. The duo spoke about the impact of gaming in today's culture and how that is reflected in the novel. If you missed the keynote, you can watch it on Chicago Public Library's official YouTube channel:?https://lnkd.in/g-peA4BS. Special thank you to Bank of America and the Chicago Public Library Foundation for supporting Chicago Public Library's One Book, One Chicago programming. We can't wait to invite you to next year's One Book, One Chicago season!

From attending story times as a kid to participating in citywide book clubs as a college student, most Chicagoans have a story about the Library. Chicago Public Library has always and will continue to welcome and support the pursuit of reading and lifelong learning. Whether it's arts, technology, finance, history, fashion, or cooking, CPL has always strived to provide resources for everyone and has been a space for people to build memories and learn new things. As part of our #LifelongLearning campaign, we want to hear from you directly about how you experience #LifelongLearning at your local Library. Those who submit will have an opportunity to win exclusive CPL swag. ReAnn, a CPL patron since they were six years old, mentioned "While young,?I loved burying my nose in a great big book, its words letting me travel to far-off lands, see wild and wonderful things, and meet the most interesting characters." Another patron, Roberto, mentioned "Lately, I have been reading about bicycles and also painting. I like to ride bicycles, and I paint in watercolor and acrylic. The library has many references for both of my passions."? Many Chicagoans have stories, what's yours: https://lnkd.in/gQBH2pMw. #CPL4LIFE
